Namen konference je osvetliti potencial delovanja strokovnjakov s področja pomoči z umetnostjo oz. umetnostne terapije v različnih inštitucijah oziroma organizacijah in zajema spodnje štiri vsebinske sklope.
The main theme of the conference is the potential for the engagement of arts therapy professionals in different institutions and organizations and covers four thematic areas listet below.
1. POMOČ OTROKOM, MLADOSTNIKOM IN DRUŽINAM / ARTS THERAPY FOR CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS, AND FAMILIES
Vsebina prvega sklopa
Otroci in mladostniki s posebnimi potrebami (s specifičnimi učnimi težavami, čustveno vedenjskimi motnjami, govorno-jezikovnimi motnjami, motnjami v duševnem razvoju, slepimi in slabovidnimi, gibalno oviranimi ter z avtizmom) so v šolskem in socialnem okolju pogosto izpostavljeni, saj zaradi svojih primanjkljajev naletijo na različne ovire, ki vplivajo na doživljanje sebe in svojega mesta v socialni skupini/razredu. Ob pozitivnih povratnih informacijah, podpori in spodbudah doživljajo občutek lastne vrednosti in zadovoljstva, medtem ko lahko ob pogostih negativnih povratnih informacijah sebe doživljajo kot manj vredne, nezadovoljne in manj uspešne. Pomoč otrokom in mladostnikom s posebnimi potrebami je učinkovita, če je usmerjena tako v otroka in mladostnika, njegovo družino, šolo in širše okolje ter temelji na spodbujanju otrokovih in mladostnikovih močnih področij in varovalnih dejavnikov v družini in v širšem okolju. Otrokom in mladostnikom je včasih težko besedno izraziti svoje stiske in težave. Mnogi se lažje izrazijo skozi kreativnost in simbolni svet ter na ta način ozavestijo in predelajo svojo stisko in jo šele kasneje ubesedijo.
V tem vsebinskem sklopu vas vabimo, da z nami delite izkušnje in znanja pri delu s predšolskimi otroki in otroki v času šolanja in odraščanja. Dobrodošli so prispevki, ki predstavljajo oblike pomoči z umetnostjo pri delu z različnimi skupinami otrok in mladostnikov s posebnimi potrebami. Prav tako vabimo vse, ki delate s starši in družinami, da predstavite primere medsebojnega sodelovanja in učinke le-tega.
Content of the first section
Children and adolescents with disabilities (learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, speech and language disorders, intellectual disabilities, blindness, visual impairment, physical disabilities, and autism) often encounter a range of barriers in their school and social environment, and these barriers affect their experience of themselves as well as their place in their social group and among their peers in school. Positive feedback gives them a sense of self-worth, satisfaction, support, and encouragement, while negative feedback makes them feel less worthy, dissatisfied, and less successful. Arts therapy for children and adolescents with disabilities is effective when it is targeted at the child/adolescent, their family, school, and wider environment, and when it promotes their areas of strength and enhances protective factors within their family and wider environment. Children and adolescents sometimes find it difficult to express their distress and difficulties verbally. Many find it easier to express themselves through creative methods and the symbolic world. With these methods, they become aware of and process their distress and are later able to put it into words.
We invite you to share with us your experience and knowledge in working with pre-school children, primary school children, and adolescents. We welcome papers on arts therapy in working with different groups of children and adolescents with special needs. We also invite papers on working with parents and families.
2. POMOČ PRI SOCIALNEM VKLJUČEVANJU IN DELO V SKUPNOSTI / ARTS THERAPY FOR SOCIAL INCLUSION AND IN COMMUNITY-BASED PROJECTS
Vsebina drugega sklopa
V zadnjem času se soočamo z negotovimi družbenimi razmerami, pogojenimi tako s posledicami pandemije Covid-19, kot s podnebnimi spremembami, vojnami, revščino in stopnjevanjem individualizma v nasprotju s skupnostnim delovanjem. Nagle družbene spremembe in neugodne življenjske okoliščine pogosto povzročajo pomanjkanje občutka varnosti v vsakdanjih življenjskih situacijah in povečano stopnjo ranljivosti, pri čemer so še posebej izpostavljeni priseljenci, brezdomci, osebe brez družinske in socialne podporne mreže ali s pomanjkljivo družinsko oz. socialno podporno mrežo, žrtve nasilja, osebe, ki se soočajo z revščino, odvisniki od nedovoljenih drog, alkohola in osebe, ki trpijo zaradi različnih oblik nekemičnih odvisnosti. Pomoč pri socialnem vključevanju in vzpostavljanju socialne mreže je ena izmed pomembnih oblik pomoči osebam, ki doživljajo stisko.
Vabimo vas, da z nami delite primere dobre prakse pri delu z ranljivimi skupinami oseb in predstavite različne oblike izvajanja pomoči z umetnostjo z namenom izboljšanja položaja oseb v njihovi socialni sredini in širši skupnosti.
Content of the second section
Recently, we have been dealing with precarious social situations caused by the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, wars, poverty, and the escalation of individualism as opposed to community values. Rapid social change and adverse life circumstances often lead to a reduced sense of security in everyday life and increased vulnerability. The following groups are particularly vulnerable: migrants, people experiencing homelessness, people with no family or a dysfunctional family and few social support networks, victims of violence, people experiencing poverty, people addicted to illicit drugs, alcohol, and people who suffer from various forms of non-chemical dependencies. Arts therapy aimed at social integration and creating a social network is one of the most important forms of support for people in distress.
We invite you to share with us examples of good practices working with vulnerable groups and to present different ways of using arts therapy in order to improve the situation of vulnerable people in their social environment and wider community.
3. POMOČ PRI OHRANJANJU TELESNEGA IN DUŠEVNEGA ZDRAVJA / ARTS THERAPY TO IMPROVE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH
Vsebina tretjega sklopa
Posledice stresnih družbenih dogajanj, doba tehnologije, individualizma in materializma, hitrega tempa življenja, osamljenosti znotraj površinskih odnosov, se vedno bolj odražajo tudi na posameznikovem telesnem in duševnem zdravju. Starostna meja soočanja z duševnimi težavami, se je pomaknila že precej v čas otroštva in mladostništva ter zajema vse starostne skupine ljudi. Doseganje lastnih in družbeno zastavljenih (sprejemljivih) ciljev ter pričakovanj, pogosto povzroča stres, ki ob nestrpnih medosebnih odnosih, negativno vpliva na psihofizično delovanje človeka. Umetnost in njeni pozitivni učinki na področju telesnega in duševnega zdravja, prispevajo k dobrobiti in opolnomočenju posameznika na čustvenem, psihofizičnem in psihosocialnem področju ter prispevajo k polnovrednemu bivanju. Strokovnjaki pomoči z umetnostjo se v mnogih okoljih srečujete s kronično in dolgotrajno bolnimi osebami, osebami s težavami ali boleznimi na področju duševnega zdravja, ženskami v obdobju nosečnosti, rojevanja in poporodnem obdobju, posamezniki in družinami v obdobju odhajanja ali obdobju paliativne oskrbe. Vse vas, ki v bolnišničnih okoljih, zdravstvenih, terapevtskih ustanovah ali oskrbi na domu, nudite podporo posameznikom ali skupinam na področju ohranjanja telesnega in duševnega zdravja skozi vsa življenjska obdobja, lepo vabimo, da s svojim znanjem in izkušnjami prispevate ter obogatite vsebine konference SZUT.
Content of the third section
The consequences of a stressful social environment, technology, individualism and materialism, the fast pace of life, and loneliness because of superficial relationships are increasingly affecting physical and mental health. Young people in childhood and adolescence are increasingly experiencing mental health problems and indeed this issue can now be said to effect all age groups. The effort to achieve personal and socially defined (acceptable) goals often causes stress, which, along with difficult interpersonal relationships, can have a negative impact on mental and physical well-being. The arts and their positive effects on physical and mental health contribute to the well-being and empowerment of people in the emotional, physical, mental, and psychosocial domains and contribute to the creation of a healthy and happy life.
In many settings, arts therapy professionals work with chronically sick people, people with mental health issues, women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the post-natal period, as well as people dealing with bereavement or going through palliative care.
We invite all professionals and others who support individuals or groups in the field of physical and mental health, in hospitals, healthcare, therapeutic, and home-care settings, to share your knowledge and experience in the context of our conference.
4. POMOČ STAREJŠIM PRI SOOČANJU S TRETJIM ŽIVLJENJSKIM OBDOBJEM / ARTS THERAPY FOR THE ELDERLY

Število starostnikov se z leti veča in napoveduje se tretjinski odstotek starejših prebivalcev pri nas. Daljše življenjsko obdobje in nižanje stopnje umrljivosti, je značilen pojav sodobne družbe. Odnos do starejših in njihov položaj v družbi, navkljub velikim prizadevanjem stroke in posameznikov, zaenkrat ni najbolj obetaven. Starost je življenjsko obdobje, ki od posameznika zahteva prilagoditvene spremembe. V tretjem življenjskem obdobju starostnik lahko izgublja na kvaliteti svojega življenja. To je čas, ko se človek sooča z boleznimi, izgubami, osamljenostjo. Pojavi se upad fizične moči, odvisnosti, spreminja se zunanji telesni videz, drža, otežijo se zmožnosti gibanja, okrnijo sposobnosti posameznih čutil. Na svoji moči izgubljajo človekovi organi, pri posameznikih še posebej krnijo funkcije možganov. Pogoste se spremembe v socialnem okolju, omeji se obseg možnosti za socialne stike, otroci odidejo po svojih poteh, neizbežne so izgube partnerja, pojavijo se lahko tudi finančne stiske. Življenje starostnikov se lahko ovije v žalost, tesnobo ali celo depresijo, v kolikor družba in podporno okolje ne pripomoreta k udejanjanju potrebnih ukrepov.
Tisti strokovnjaki, ki s pristopi pomoči z umetnostjo učinkovito pomagate starostnikom izboljšati kvaliteto življenja in prispevate k razvijanju veščin, ki so potrebne za soočanje z izzivi, ki jih prinaša to srebrno obdobje življenja, vas vabimo, da predstavite svoje dragocene primere iz prakse in delite teoretična znanja z udeleženci konference. Tudi na takšen način, lahko skupaj pripomoremo k izgradnji kakovostne starosti za vsakogar. Starost ni bolezen in star človek ima prav toliko razlogov za srečno in zadovoljno življenje, kot posamezniki v drugih življenjskih obdobjih. Vljudno ste vabljeni k predstavitvi svojega dela.
Content of the fourth section
The number of elderly people is increasing. Longer life expectancy and a declining mortality rate is a phenomenon that is characteristic of modern society. Nevertheless, and despite the best efforts of professionals and individuals, attitudes towards older people and their position in society continue to worsen. Old age requires adaptive changes on the part of the individual undergoing it. It is a time when people are often confronted with illness, loss, and loneliness. People experience a decline in physical strength, increased dependency, changes in outward appearance and posture, difficulty in mobility, and impairment of sensory abilities. Aging organs slowly lose function, and brain function can be particularly impaired.
During old age, changes in the social environment are frequent, social contact is reduced, children may not be present. The loss of life partners is inevitable, and financial hardship may also occur. Thus elderly people may be overcome with sadness, anxiety, and even depression if society and a supportive environment do not put necessary measures in place.
We invite the professionals who use arts-based approaches in working with elderly people in order to improve their quality of life and develop the skills needed to face the challenges of stage of life to present practical examples and share theoretical knowledge with other conference participants. In this way, we can contribute to building an improved quality of life for elderly people. Old age is not a disease and an elderly person has as many reasons to live a happy and fulfilled life as people at other stages of life.
